In 2011, Topeka was made the Top 10 overall Well-Being for Small Cities by Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. Washburn University, in Topeka, ranked 18th in the top 25 Regional Universities in the Mid-West by US News & World Report. In 2011, Topeka organizations won two National Keep America Beautiful Awards: Topeka made the Top Ten Best Places for Military Veterans to Live in 2011 by Livability.com.
