Tuesday, July 25 Topeka City Council voted and selected to hire Jim Colson, deputy city manager of Glendale, Ariz. as Topeka's next city manager.

Topeka City Counil has narrowed the number of finalists to three for the city manager's position. Residents will be able to meet with the finalists Friday evening, prrior to the council interviews them Saturday.

Quarterly, Shawnee County Mayors met at luncheons put on by the Government Foundation. County’s mayors discussed topics and issues in their communities and saw how others worked to solve similar issues in their communities.
