The Topeka Planning Office is looking for volunteers to count current active transportation users (people on bikes, walking, skateboarding, roller skating) and help give a metric showing growth or room for potential development of more inclusive infrastructure in different areas of town.
The flyer and sign-up information is shown below.
If you’ve got questions, you can contact our multi-modal planner Taylor Ricketts at 368-1607 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Bike Counts are done nationally, so other cities participate and submit their results, then all the results are combined and analyzed. This will be Topeka’s fourth year participating in the bike counts. The past three counts have told us we are seeing an increase in bicycle and pedestrian usage. All three reports can be found at http://www.topeka.org/planning/bicycles.shtml
